About Me
I have a Bachelors degree in English language and literature, and a Masters degree in Strategic Change Management. This combination allowed me to work across two careers: English language teaching and business consultancy, both have been very rewarding so far! After many years working internationally and in London, I now live in South Devon- the English Riviera, home of Agatha Christie, and as warm as England gets! I run a hospitality business housed in a 13th century haunted inn and maintain my links to Business English via teaching and coaching

I have extensive experience in both teaching English/ communication skills for business, working with a range of businesses- as a management consultant- and owning and running a business. For 10 years I worked with a specialist language and skills teaching company (Canning Training) in Tokyo, Milan, Madrid, Budapest etc. I taught language through business themes such as presentations, negotiations, social situations and meetings. This provides both focus and structure to your learning. I also worked on a banking project in Vietnam and a volunteer project in Guatemala. I spent 15 years working as a business change consultant with a major company (KPMG) and then as an independant. I worked on major IT implementations, large pharmaceutical change projects, merger and acquisition within FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) as well as in government, policing and the NHS (UK's public health body).
I now live in Beautiful Devon, on England's southwest coast, running a hospitality business and offering online coaching and training.

Coaching Style
Firstly, to establish your goals and agree on how best to meet them: there are a vast number of resources out there, face to face time needs to focus on what you cannot get from other resources: role play, discussion, feedback etc.
Secondly, providing you with an effective time plan to meet your goals: for example, we may role play a meeting, cover feedback, essential grammar and vocabulary and use this to improve your performance and ability across a range of similar situations.
Thirdly- flexibility and expansion. Not everything works for everyone. I will be prepared with key learning points and will adapt how we deal with them if needed. I will also use press articles, discussion topics etc. to build your skills around a topic or situation.
Along with some spontaneous chat- as in the 'real world'!
