Education
Industry Expertise
I am a British national with permanent residency in the Czech Republic. I have an MBA with specialisation in strategic planning and change management. I have utilised my strategic knowledge in a number of positions. Having served Her Majesty’s government in a senior role in the 90s, I was responsible for the implementation of a major strategic change project that still has an impact today. As Dean of Business for the London School of Business and Finance, I used strategic planning tools (7 steps, SWOT, Porters Value Chain, Porters Competitive environment and 4Ps) to guide the future and highly successful strategic planning.
I have been teaching Business at Level 3 – 7 since 2008, and have been teaching Chinese K6 – K12 since 2017 both online and face to face in China. I recently completed a 12-month contract at GCGS in Foshan for Bright Scholar. I have been teaching Business English to adults in Prague since November 2021.
On the theoretical side, I have written several papers that used Strategic Planning to allow organisations to accurately place themselves in the competitive market. I consider myself an expert on Strategic planning, especially Strategic Change.
My overall role throughout my career has been one of Leadership. As part of the London School of Business and Finance, I was a member of the Strategic Senior Management team, and I was closely involved in the strategic decision-making process within LSBF.
I have been involved in university partnerships processes and activities, both as part of the wider LSBF group, and specifically as the lead for online validation and franchise partnership deals. I am experienced in negotiating and running validation events, from initial contact to final signing.
I have had a lead role in several working groups in areas such as International Development and Changing the Methodology of Delivery. As an academic dean, I developed very strong skills in verbal and written communication, organisation, budget preparation, developing and implementing goals, managing resources, strategic planning and interdisciplinary scholarly skills.
I was a key member of the Academic Leadership team and Executive Office strategic think-tank, and successfully gained Pearson Edexcel centre approval for Prague and Online. I was a critical member of the University Validation team.
My role also included partnership and franchise presentations, academic appeals, recruitment of online faculty and leadership of 15 academic support staff and 25 lecturers. Student numbers grew from 400 to 1200 in my time as dean.
